Drive belts general information

Drive belts - classification

Depending on the type of string:

  • drive belts with polyamide string (polymer) PA,

  • drive belts with a string made of polyethylene terephthalate foil (polyester) E,

  • drive belts with AR aramid string.

Depending on the type of friction lining:

  • one-sided drive belts for open drives,

  • double-sided drive belts for tangential and traditional drives.

Depending on the type of the string, we use a specific connection of the belts, and so for belts with polyamide string it is a hot connection with glue (overlapping), in the case of belts with polyester and aramid string we use glueless finger connection (with so-called grooves).

Speaking of friction linings, we mean the belt covering, which can be rubber and such a covering is most often found in belts, there is also leather, polyurethane and hamid covering.
