The basic material used for production is PE 1000.
Polyethylene PE 1000 (PE-UHMW) is characterized by:
- very high resistance to friction wear and very good sliding properties
- very high bending strength and impact strength
- high chemical resistance and anti-adhesive properties
- very high notched impact strength and resistance to stress cracking
- good tear resistance at elevated temperatures
- very low working temperature reaching -250°C
- vibration damping properties - silent operation
- antistatic properties
Another type of polyethylene is PE 500, especially recommended for contact with food.
Often used for the production of cutting table tops.
